Faye June Kennedy of Ekalaka, MT was born July 12, 1929 to Leonard and Mary Ward, the fourth of nine children on Snow Creek in the Long Pine Hills. She attended country school through 8th grade and graduated from Carter County High School. Faye married William Kennedy in 1949 and they made their home on the ranch in the Bell Tower community.

Faye was always optimistic, thought the best of everyone, able to adapt to all of life's challenges, with perseverance and never complaining. She took life at face value and accepted everyone for who they were. Her door was always open for a visitor, a good cup of coffee and a game of cards. She enjoyed crafting, was a Beauty for all Seasons consultant, sold fabric, crafts and operated an antique shop of the ranch. Faye was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Ekalaka. She organized fund raising to build The Parish Hall.

Later in life she worked in social services at Dahl Memorial. Faye loved to have fun and spend time with friends especially her lifelong best friend Vernalea Kittelmann. She and her friends celebrated her birthday each year from 1992 to 2019 with a trip to Deadwood, SD. One year they had a special memory of riding in a stretch limousine. Faye enjoyed dancing, picnics, and playing pinochle in two separate card clubs. She also liked to watch the TV show "Golden Girls" with some of her grandchildren who became fans also. Faye was known for her excellent fried chicken and angel food cakes. Family was her top priority which included trips for family events to Alaska, Arizona, Casper, Wyoming and Indiana. She never missed a ball game, rodeo or concert if her family was involved.

Faye is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Rodney) Tauck; son, William (Dallas) Kennedy, daughter-in-law, Kyla Kennedy; sister, Anna Jane Peterson; sister-in-law, Alice Ward; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
