A change in heart

Hello God, it's me, Mara:

You know, Lord, in a few days a 'time-change' is coming up – like when we get up and when we go to bed. Not everyone likes to deal with 'Time Change'!

Oh – it probably only affects people; it probably doesn't 'bother' birds, beasts, beavers or bears' – 'nor the chickens', one gal added.

But remembering WAY back when we were kids at home and had to 'help' do the chores; milking the cows, for a while, we got a bit less milk in the milk bucket but the cows soon 'adapted' to the change. We noticed that the chickens followed the Sun, even though there WAS a difference when they got fed and when eggs were gathered, but they didn't fuss.

The neighbors weren't crazy about evenings getting dark sooner, like an hour earlier than usual; THEY had different chores to do and they wanted a bit MORE evening light to get that job done. That change in missing day-light, for them it was hard to deal with.

Then MS Ginger spoke up – 'Hey, we're all older now but that word 'CHANGE' reminds me of our Sunday School teacher some years back? She told us there are two roads that lie before us and we must choose one. We must change to the road less traveled, that makes all the difference. Then she read us Matthew 7:13-14: "Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."

The teacher then added, "As we ponder the road ahead, may God give us wisdom and courage to follow His way; the road of life. A change in heart will make all the difference for us and those we Love!"

Love, Mara
