Night at the museum

Enjoy a special night at Carter County Museum on Monday, November 4th, beginning at 5:30 p.m. This family-friendly event is a collaboration between Ekalaka Public Schools and Carter County Museum, promising an evening of fun, learning, and community.

All families are invited to attend this exciting event. Participants will have the opportunity to receive free books, free admittance and delve into the fascinating world of dinosaurs, and explore the wonders of Carter County Museum.

Special guest and author Kallie Moore, will be joining to make the evening even more memorable. She will be reading passages of her book that will be given to all families.

Moore is an enthusiastic paleontologist and science communicator. She is the Collections Manager, or 'Fossil Librarian,' of the paleontology collection at the University of Montana, as well as a content consultant and co-host for the YouTube channel PBS Eons (youtube.com/eons). Like the channel, she is dedicated to the history of life on Earth. Her love of paleontology started from a young age. She even spent her recesses searching for tiny fossils in the gravel on her grade school's playground.

During her career, Moore has consulted for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on renovations to the DINOSAUR ride and hosted a livestream for the newly opened Deep Time Hall at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History in Washington, DC.

Her debut children's book, "Tales of the Prehistoric World" was released in the fall of 2022. In 2024, Moore was added as an Executive Producer on "Why Dinosaurs?" a documentary about dinosaurs and the people who love them.

Don't miss this unique opportunity to spend quality time with family and read and learn something new! Everyone is invited!
