The Custer Gallatin National Forest offers free personal use firewood permits. Residents can pick one up at their local Forest Service Ranger District office or may contact the local Forest Service Ranger District office to have one emailed or mailed to them.
The Sioux RD representative will be available in person for free firewood permits at the NRCS office in Ekalaka on Wednesday October 23rd from 2 to 5 p.m.
