Marjorie Mary Seymour

Marjorie Mary Seymour passed away on September 16, 2024, at Aspen Creek Assisted Living facility in Soldotna, Ak. She fought a hard battle with cancer the past 5.5 months.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 28, 2024, at Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church, 225 S Spruce St., Kenai, Ak 99611 with a reception to follow at the church hall.

Marjorie was born December 27, 1937, on the Snow Creek Ranch near Ekalaka, Montana to parents Leonard and Mary (Wheat) Ward. She was the youngest of eleven children. She attended Carter County High School in Ekalaka.

Marjorie married Coral William Seymour on July 24, 1954. In 1955 their son Robert was born. Their second son Len was born in 1956. Keeping up with two rambunctious boys kept Marjorie busy. Marjorie and Coral moved their family a number of times as Coral pursued his career working in the oil business for Schlumberger.

They lived in Riverton, WY, Newcastle, WY, Casper, WY, and Cutbank, MT during the first 11 years of their marriage.

Finally in the summer of 1967, they moved to Kenai, Alaska. That was to be their home for the remainder of their lives. Marjorie was a homemaker who kept very busy raising her two sons. Coral was often away from home for his work, and of course that would be when some issue would crop up on the home front. Marjorie always managed to find a fix for whatever had happened. Including finding a way to get dinner on the table even though the power would go off in the evening many times during the first few years they lived in Kenai. Her boys were active in many sports and her husband was very involved in the Kenai Oilers Baseball Association, so over the years Marjorie attended hundreds of different sporting events.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Nellie, Luella, Gladys, Liz, and Dorothy; her brother, John; two infant brothers; and several brothers-in-law.

Marjorie is survived by son, Robert (Lori) Seymour; son, Len Seymour; granddaughters, Cortney (Jeff) Braun and Sabrina (Jason) Seymour; grandsons, Kris (Amy) Seymour, Cody Seymour, Nate (Jenna) Seymour, Luke Seymour; great granddaughters, Scarlett Seymour, Pepper Seymour, OliveahBraun, and Charlotte Kruse; great grandsons, Ocean Braun, Kaleb Kruse, Cade Seymour, Cole Seymour and Kellan Seymour. Also surviving are sisters, Anna Jane Peterson of Casper, Wy; Faye Kennedy of Ekalaka, Montana; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, Marjorie requests donations to Meals on Wheels or an organization of your choice.
