Two days of celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, September 14th, with a sourdough pancake brunch at the church on 111 South Central Street. Guest speaker and cowboy preacher, Gary Henderson, will speak at 4 p.m. on Saturday. Henderson once rode as a top hand in Carter County. After he came to faith in Jesus Christ, he became a preacher of the Gospel. He pastored and ranched in Northern Alberta for over 25 years. He now works in cowboy churches in Alberta and Texas. He spent a lifetime in the rodeo livestock business. Henderson will speak again at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday.
At 7 p.m. on Saturday, there will be a concert featuring the Paul Family Bluegrass Band. Originally from Florida, the Pauls, a family of seven, operate a 12,000 tap, 260 acre maple syrup farm in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. As the snow melts and spring returns, the Pauls load up into their '45 tour bus and excitedly look forward to their busy "tour season."
The Pauls feature a wide range of musical styles including original chart topping songs, traditional hymns, and even feature contemporary Christian worship all with a country music flare that delivers a positive and encouraging message in a family-friendly setting. The Pauls purposefully and skillfully blend together ten different instruments combined with tasteful harmonies that result in a sound and performance that only a family can deliver. The family's love for the Lord is evident in everything they do and is easily noticeable in their music, stage presence, and audience interaction.
The Pauls always bring a lively performance that features songs with positive messages that will leave attendees feeling encouraged, enlightened, empowered, and emboldened.
