Kapptie's Korner

The start of the year is here, and it's got me feeling like a cowboy waitin' for the gate to swing open. Last week, I watched those bronc riders at the fair, hearts pounding, muscles tensed, ready for the ride of their lives. Our staff kickoff on Tuesday was just like that – anticipation, excitement, and a whole lot of teamwork.

We've been buckin' ideas around and wranglin' up some commitments tied to our core values. Who we are and where we're headed is as important as a good saddle. Justin Boots talks about upholdin' the spirit of the West, and Stetson's is to create products that are built to last, with a focus on meeting the needs of future generations. Our school mission is a symbol of excellence with state of the art facilities and customized educational programs and opportunities that meet the needs, desires, and attributes of each student.

Knowin' the words to the rodeo song is one thing, but livin' it is another. We're gonna ride this mission hard, makin' it the heartbeat of every decision. It's gonna take some work, but we're committed.

We are committed to bringing that positive energy everyday. We had Todd Durkin join to help remind us about all that we do for students. We are committed to having new learning opportunities for our students and spent some amazing time with Dr. Moore and Mrs. Carrol at the Carter County Museum. We are committed to working with the community to get this ride right.

The best part of the whole shebang? The kids comin' back on Thursday! We're throwin' a Bulldog Barbecue to kick off the year right, and we hope to see the whole community there. Starts at 5 at the school and food and drinks will be provided.

Get ready, folks, because the gate is about to swing open, and this school year is gonna be one heck of a ride!

And don't forget, if your horse gets tired just tie it up and stop on in for a chat, 'cause like the song says, "Take it easy, don't let the stress get to you."
