The Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association is pleased to announce its upcoming annual meeting, scheduled for September 19, 2024, at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held at the hospital (2nd floor), and we encourage all association members to attend this important event.
This year, we are excited to announce that Georgia Bruski, current Board Chair, Troy Fruit, current Board Co-chair, and Jitt Schneider, current Board member, are all running for re-election to their current board positions. Our Board members have dedicated countless hours to serving the community and the hospital, each bringing a wealth of knowledge, commitment, and dedication to their roles.
Membership, Voting, and Candidacy Information
Eligibility to Vote:
• Only current members of the Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association are eligible to vote. Membership must be active and in good standing as of the meeting date.
Membership:
• To become a member, complete a membership form and pay a lifetime membership fee of $10.00. Forms are available at the hospital's main registration desk or on the association's website at http://www.dahlmemorial.org.
• Only Carter County residents are eligible for association membership. You must show evidence of residency at the time of payment.
Becoming a Candidate for the Governing Board:
• Any member in good standing with the Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association is eligible to run for a position on the governing board.
• Nomination Process:
o Specific Rules for Candidacy:
▪ Interested members must submit a written statement of intent to the Board of Directors by September 10, 2024.
▪ The statement should include your name, address, contact information, and a brief description of your qualifications and reasons for wanting to serve on the board.
o Submit the statement in person at the hospital's main registration desk in a sealed envelope addressed to the Board Chair Georgia Bruski.
o The Board of Directors will review all statements and prepare a finalized slate of candidates by September 14, 2024.
o Additional nominations can be made by members at the annual meeting.
• Election Process:
o Elections will take place during the annual meeting by secret ballot. If conducted beforehand by written ballot, members will be notified, and the process will adhere to the same deadlines and regulations.
Voting in Person:
• Members attending the meeting in person will receive a ballot upon registration. Voting will take place during the meeting after hearing from the candidates.
Proxy Voting:
• Members unable to attend the meeting in person can vote by proxy. To do so, complete a proxy voting form, designating another association member who will attend the meeting to vote on your behalf.
• Proxy forms are available from the hospital's main registration desk or can be downloaded from the association's website at: http://www.dahlmemorial.org
• Completed proxy forms must be submitted to the hospital's main registration desk by 5:00 pm on September 14, 2024.
Counting Votes:
• Votes, including proxy votes, will be counted immediately following the close of voting. The results will be announced at the meeting and published on the hospital's website and in the local newspaper.
Montana State Rules and Regulations for Voting and Proxy Voting:
• According to Montana state law, all eligible members must be given the opportunity to vote in board elections, either in person or by proxy, as outlined in the association's bylaws.
• A proxy vote must be executed in writing, signed by the member giving the proxy, and submitted by the specified deadline.
Timeline for Membership, Candidacy, and Voting:
• August 1, 2024: Membership applications open for new members.
• September 1, 2024: Proxy forms available for download and distribution.
• September 10, 2024: Deadline for members to express interest in becoming a candidate for the governing board.
• September 14, 2024, 5:00 pm: Deadline for submitting completed proxy forms and finalization of the candidate slate.
• September 19, 2024, 6:30 pm: Annual meeting, including the election of board members and in-person voting at the hospital.
