Merrymaking plans
Hello God, it's me, Mara:
You know, Lord, some folks have a 'swarm' of friends and kin who have lots to celebrate in August, which means birthdays and anniversaries. One gal has a name and date on every single date on her August calendar! Deaths also are listed; as we are born to die and fly back 'HOME' to heaven to be with Father God... But while down here, how about a party? Mentioning this, friend 'Sue' giggled and asked if she'd be invited to one of our early parties as her kin all had late August celebrations. "My Mom makes salads and sandwiches with black olives – I love those! And IF she makes stew, she always adds a bay leaf and mushrooms, just like grandma did."
J.J. added, "If you were from Texas, like my family, you'd love chili; you'd add kidney beans regardless if you thought that was a criminal act, like my brother does. Chili Stew in our family was good every single month but especially in our August birthday month; and don't forget: brown meat, onions, do taste it now and then to see if you need more salt OR more water!"
Rodger frowned: "Well! I like French Fries, Pepperoni Pizza, some Soda to drink. Oh, don't forget tomatoes. Grandpa always made sure there were extra ones in a small dish, just for him."
"It looks like 'we' have a date or two," added Phebe. "When we had parties at Auntie's house, we all held hands while Uncle Jake prayed a blessing on the food adding: [1]'He gives food to every living thing, for His loving-kindness continues forever. Amen!'"
"Auntie always had background music playing. Such precious memories – I hope the next generation 'gets this' and can do the same when they're our age!" We all giggled, and started planning. "OH! Don't forget the CAKE!"
Love Mara
