Board leadership training, June 5th in Ekalaka

In conjunction with Montana State University Extension, Carter County Commissioners are sponsoring a board leadership training for all members of local boards. The training, slated for June 5th, is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. at Carter County Event Center.

Topics at the training include principles of good governance, roles and responsibilities of board members/trustees, open meeting laws, citizens right to participate laws, closing a meeting, board member liability, effective meetings, agendas and managing public comment, Montana’s code of ethics, and proper meeting minutes.

This training will prove valuable for all members of local boards and will make attendees more effective in their local board service. Come learn how to be an effective board member and provide essential leadership in this community.
