JV boys beat Plevna, Terry

The CCHS JV basketball boys lost to the Broadus JV boys on January 30th in Broadus, 38-52. The boys were down only one at halftime but were outscored by 6 in the third quarter and 5 in the fourth. Kinch Rost shot and made Blue’s only two free throws throughout the game. Nine Bulldogs scored in the game, four of them finished with 6 points. Hawk Logan Capp led all scorers with 14.

The JV boys played well in Plevna on Friday, February 2nd, coming away with a 16 point win. Eldon Morris scored 10 points in the first quarter and had a game-high 16 points to lead the way for the ‘Dogs. Again, nine players scored for CCHS. The boys shot 6 of 16 from the free throw line; Plevna went only 4 of 19. The ‘Dogs had 24 turnovers in the game, as did the Cougars.

A C squad boys game in Terry the following night went the way of the Bulldog, 56-22. Bulldog Kinch Rost led all scorers with 19 points. Tiernan O’Connor and Gage Stieg also finished the game with double-digit points for CCHS. The ‘Dogs went 10-22 on free throws.

The JV Bulldog boys found similar success in Terry on February 3rd as they defeated the JV Terriers, 63-36. Ekalaka did a good job on turnovers as they had only 12 compared to 18 for Terry. CCHS went 3-8 from the charity stripe, Terry was 0-6. Bulldog Roger Beach led all scorers with 14 points.
