The CCHS Bulldogs opened their basketball season versus the Circle Wildcats at a start-of-year tournament in Miles City. The games were held at Sacred Heart.
The ‘Dogs were outscored by 20 in the first half of their season opener, but held their own in the second half, eventually losing by 20.
Wildcat O. Beery was the games leading scorer with 16 points, he had 11 in the second quarter. Chace Loehding was the only Bulldog that finished with double-digit points; he had 10.

On December 2nd CCHS played Savage at Sacred Heart. The game was tied at 19 going into halftime, but Savage outscored Blue by 15 in the third and 6 in the fourth to win by 21. Chace Loehding and Wyatt Melton scored 10 each for Blue. S. Erickson of Savage led all scorers with 16 points. Blue shot 3 of 6 from the free throw line; Savage shot 10 of 16.

Last Friday, the Bulldogs played Custer/Hysham in Broadview. CCHS battled, especially down the stretch as they outscored Custer/Hysham in the fourth, but they eventually lost by 6 points, 41-47. CCHS shot an impressive 9 of 11 (82 percent) on free throws; Custer/Hysham went 6 of 15 from the line.

The following night CCHS took on Roberts at Lavina. Blue came out firing on offense as they put up 19 points in each of the first two quarters and had an 11-point lead at the half. The second half was almost dead-even, but Blue’s early lead was enough for them to get their first win of the season, 69-56. The Bulldogs went to the line often and shot a high percentage in the contest while Roberts went only 11 of 20. Chace Loehding and Wyatt Melton led the way for Blue with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Roberts’ Cody Atcosta was the game’s top scorer with 18.
