Extension Office taking orders for Montana certified seed potatoes

The Fallon-Carter County Extension Office is taking orders for Montana certified seed potatoes. The three main varieties that will be ordered are Yukon Gem, a yellow fleshed all purpose potato; Norland Dark Red, a medium sized potato great for boiling, frying and salads; and Huckleberry Gold, has purple skin with yellow flesh. Huckleberry Gold is resistant to growth cracks and hollow heart.

To get a variety other than what is mentioned above, 25 pounds of that variety must be ordered. As long as the 25 pound minimum for each variety is met and the 100 pound minimum requirement for the total order is met, the office can order as Master Gardeners. Seed potatoes cost $1.00 per pound.

If you would like seed potatoes, please stop by the office in the Fallon County Courthouse basement or the Carter County Courthouse and get an order form. Call 406-778-7110 to place an order, or the office can email an order form. Orders are due January 19. Someone from the office will call when the seed potatoes are available for pickup. Payment is due during pickup.
