Junior high boys basketball wraps up season

The JH Boys Basketball season ended November 18 with the grand finale Sacred Heart tournament where Forsyth took first by only 1 point! The Boys A team lost to Forsyth Friday by only 4 points, and we couldn’t be prouder of them! Everything we had been working on all season shined in their final game of the season!

Gage Stieg never sat out once and played controlled and intense ball, grabbing several rebounds, great angled layups, and a 3 pointer. Cortland O’Connor shined with his unstoppable left-hand drive and was the top scorer with 18 points as a 6th grader. Bentley Jardee used his speed to come in and help on defenses as the starters needed a break and scored a swishing jumper! Tiernan O’Connor takes on the best opponents every game and reduces their point total with incredible defense and takes a lot of physical play for his team, we are all proud of his leadership and maturity this year! Jaxen Walker had some great shots, managed to sneak in a few rebounds every game, and played denying defense that his opponent rarely scores.

Ben Enos, Grady Stieg, Kaden Loudermilk are always ready to help the A team when needed and are an important part of preparing the A team for games! Landry Shepherd is more than eager to come off the bench and give the starters a break and is our next “big” guy in line to help and is only a 5th grader!

Colt Jesperson absolutely played out of his mind last game! Making 2-3 pointers, 2-2-point post moves, and 8 rebounds. In the end the team played under control and with confidence. It was a concentrated season for all these players, but they all improved, and this is just the beginning of their sporting career. We are excited to see them grow and mature as players and as youth in our community!
