‘Watch’

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

You know, Lord, any day it’s great to ‘watch’ things, like clouds, trees, flowers, traffic, you name it, right? Can’t we just hear a group of kids using that word: “Let’s watch those clouds – they’re really moving fast.” Angie says, “Since we live in a valley, we like to watch the sun rise over the hills, or see the clouds coming up OR going down behind the hills, my favorite is to watch the Full Moon rising over the hills.”

Deb adds, “We live on top of a hill, we get to watch those things also, but from a different angle; my favorite, this time of year, on a breezy day, is to watch a branch or two on our big trees, watching leaves come fluttering down. That’s always fun.”

“At our house,” Silvia says, “We have a birdbath; it’s fun to watch one Morning Dove, who thinks he’s the boss, he won’t let others in to bathe or drink, but the Robin lets several Robins join him or even small birds; it’s fun to watch them drink or bathe.”

Alex added, “Remember when we were little, we’d yell, ‘Mom! Come watch me do this!’ It didn’t really matter ‘do what’, we just wanted mom’s attention.’ Some chuckles.

Ginger added, “At Bible Study last week, our teacher reminded us that ‘Watch’ not only meant using your eyes to see, but also to watch HOW we speak – like in Psalms 141:3; ‘Help me, LORD, to keep my mouth shut and my lips sealed.” She added that there’s about 39 verses about watching our mouths. Her favorite was Matt 24:42: ‘Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come,’ that one means a lot to her.”

“Let’s agree with dad about Proverbs 21:23: ‘Keep your mouth closed and you’ll stay out of trouble,’ we know he’s right, right?” Chuckles…

Love, Mara
