JH girls play weekend games

We went to Terry on Friday, there were two girls out sick, and two were injured. The score board does not always reflect what they have accomplished with the positionless offense, passing and defensive skills. They are moving the ball around, dribbling and shooting the ball. We are still working on our free throws to improve our percentage from the line and talking to teammates on defense. I also want to thank Coach Olsen, Coach Klauzer, Mrs. Walker, Mrs. Spencer and Trista DeFrance for volunteering their time to assist.

The B team lost to Terry, 20 to 14, with the first quarter being us 4 and Terry 2. The second quarter score was us 6 and Terry 8, the third quarter Terry pulled ahead 16 to 10. Vera Strub scored 6 points, Ella Wright with 2 points, Oakley Spring with 2 points and Cai Jesperson with 4 points.

The A team beat Terry 36 to 13. The first quarter being us 15 to Terry’s 2 and the other 3 quarters we stayed in the lead. These girls played outstanding defense and almost every one of them took a shot. Samantha Deford had 3 points, Alivia Foxley had 2 points, Maggie Eshelman had 6 points (4 points were from free throws), Allie Shepherd had 6 points, Lily Schallenberger had 6 points, Ayla Yates had 2 points Keli Melton had 10 points, and Cai Jesperson had 1 point. We shot 21 free throws during the game for 38 percent from the line.

The B team played Plevna on Saturday and won 17 to 14. Maggie Eshelman graciously volunteered to help her teammates due to injuries and sickness. Peighton Matthews had 2 points, Vera Strub had 2 points, Maggie Eshelman had 3 points, Oakley Spring had 4 points, and Cai Jesperson had 6 points.

This weekend both games are at home as we play Wibaux on Friday and Broadus on Saturday. If you haven’t had a chance to watch these girls play, please come to our last two games.
