Ekalaka Public Schools Principal resigns

Ekalaka Public Schools Principal Brian Purnell recently resigned from his position. Purnell’s last day in office was Thursday, November 2nd.

The school-owned housing that Purnell lived in with his family is already vacant and the K-12 principal position was posted on the Montana Office of Public Instruction website by Tuesday morning.

In the interim, Ekalaka Public Schools Superintendent Charles Cook will either fulfill or delegate principal duties.

Purnell had served as principal at Ekalaka Public Schools for only a short time, since the beginning of the 2022 school year.

A request by the Eagle for a copy of Purnell’s resignation letter was denied by the school.
