CARTER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS

The Board of Carter County Commissioners met in regular session on October 31, 2023, in the Carter County Commission Board Meeting Room of the Carter County Courthouse at 214 Park Street in Ekalaka, Montana. Rod Tauck, Chairman, Mike Watkins, Vice Chairman and Pamela Castleberry, member were present.

The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. by Chairman Rod Tauck.

Tricia Lovec, Senior Coordinator has received Kylee Kennedy’s resignation from the senior custodial position at the senior center. Tricia stated that Jimi Fix would like to add cleaning the senior center to her duties. The Commission agreed to add up to 10 hours of cleaning to Jimi’s contract.

Clerk and Recorder/Human Resources Judy Wright joined the meeting to discuss personnel matters, including the request from Sabre Moore for Marilyn Schultz to work from home in November and December for convenience of scanning documents. The Commissioners requested that Judy send a letter to Marilyn denying permission to work from home.

Judy has also received notification that Mark Husby’s airplane has been down for repairs and will be until he can receive the parts to repair it.

Discussed purchasing signage to be used to announce the office hours for the Public Health Office.

The commission approved payroll in the amount of $285,361.94 and claims in the amount of $339,802.63 plus Public Health late warrants $4,334.55 for a total of $344,137.16.

Commissioner Castleberry made the motion to approve proceedings for October 10th and 16th, 2023. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

County Attorney Harrington joined the meeting.

There was a discussion of the Durm Road .

The meeting broke for lunch at 12:05 p.m. and reconvened at 1 p.m.

Guests: Alvin and Marlee Cordell, Brice Padden, Ivan Teigen, Ted Kautzman, Road Supervisor Carl Knapp, County Attorney Corbit Harrington, and Clerk and Recorder Judy Wright.

There was discussion of the Court ordered opening of the Durm Road.

Fallon - Carter Extension Agent Amanda Williams joined the meeting to discuss Carter County office hours; with the possibly adding Tuesdays to her Carter County Schedule. She has spoken to the Fallon County Commissioners and will meet with Carter Co. Commission on Monday November 06, 2023.

Commissioner Castleberry made the motion to appoint Rona Meyer to a 2nd, 1-year term on the Public Health Board. Commissioner Watkins seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 3 p.m.
