The girls have been working hard on the fundamentals — ball handling, passing, and dribbling towards the basket and defensive slides. Our positionless offense still needs some work as sometimes the ball is a hot potato, and the girls just want to get rid of it. We are working on taking a couple of seconds before we pass, dribble or shoot. Thanks to Coach Olsen, Coach Klauzer and Mrs. Amy Walker for volunteering to bring new drills, different perspectives and their willingness to help out wherever necessary.
We played in Broadus on Friday with both teams being defeated by the Broadus girls.
The B team ran the offensive plays and are improving on their defense. The score was 12 to 32. Peighton Matthews had 2 points, and Cai Jesperson had 10 points. We went to the free throw line once and were not successful so we will keep working on our free throws.
The A team played an excellent first quarter with the score being 5 to 9. The second quarter Broadus outscored us by 10 points. The fourth quarter we only scored 6 points to Broadus’ 25 points. The girls played tough defense for 3 quarters. Alivia Foxley had 6 points, Maggie Eshelman had 2 points, Holland Lovec had 1 point, Allie Shepherd had 12 points and Lily Schallenberger went to the line twice.
Jordan here will be rescheduled.
We have two away games this coming weekend; Friday we are in Terry and Saturday in Plevna.
