Replaced markers

Two hundred twenty-one severely deteriorated gravestones at Beaver Lodge Cemetery in Ekalaka were recently replaced. One of the main reasons for the project was to preserve local history before it was forever lost. The cemetery board raised some funding to offset the cost of the project. The August 11th Eagle reported that the initial plan included replacing 216 handmade markers. Donations to Beaver Lodge Cemetery may be mailed to Sue Breding, Secretary/Treasurer and Caretaker, P.O. Box 189, Ekalaka, MT 59324.
