CCHS played volleyball matches in Forsyth on September 28th. The JV Lady Bulldogs won a very tightly contested match in five sets, 27-25, 16-25, 18-16, 4-15, 19-17.
The varsity squad won the first set but lost the next three in their match, 25-23, 22-25, 9-25, 22-25. As a team, the squad totaled 14 aces, 25 kills, 5 blocks, 29 digs, and 23 assists. Kendall Kittelmann led CCHS in aces with 6. Danica Shepherd led in assists (she had all 23) and tied Nasya O'Connor for a team-high in blocks (2). Brynn Loehding led the team in kills with 10; Keli Melton led in digs with 9.
The following night CCHS took on Savage in a pair of home volleyball matches. The JV squad again took their opponent to five sets, but this time lost the match. Scores were 27-29, 22-25, 15-5, 15-10, 9-15.
The varsity girls lost their match in three straight sets, 19-25, 21-25 and 15-25. Brynn Loehding again led the team in kills with 5 of the team's 15 total. Danica Shepherd had 13 of 15 assists and a pair of aces. Nasya O'Connor had all four of the team's blocks and also had a pair of aces. Kendall Kittelmann led in digs (8 of 22) and had the other two of the team's 6 total aces.
Thursday, October 5th CCHS volleyball will take on Forsyth at home. On October 12th, the are scheduled to play home matches against Wibaux. Then, on October 13th they will travel to Circle.
