CARTER COUNTY COMMISSION PROCEEDINGS

The Board of Carter County Commissioners met in regular session on Monday, August, 07, 2023 in the Carter County Commission Board meeting room of Carter County Courthouse at 214 Park Street in Ekalaka, Montana. Rod Tauck, Chairman; Mike Watkins, Vice-Chair; Pamela J. Castleberry, Member, was present.

The meeting was called to order at 9 a.m. There was no public comment. The Commission received correspondence with the 2-23-204 taxable value.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to accept Justin Kerr’s resignation from the Land Planning Board and approve Robin Diede’s Appointment to the Land Planning Board. Commissioner Castleberry seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

County Attorney Corbit Harrington joined the meeting.

Commissioner Watkins made the motion to approve the meeting minutes from June 27, 2023 and June 31, 2023. Commissioner Castleberry seconded the motion. There was no public comment and the motion carried.

The Board discussed the L3 Harris airport tower lease agreement / contract. They placed a call to Airport Board President Troy Fruit, and will call back.

Dahl Memorial CEO Ryan Tooke joined the meeting to present the Dahl Memorial quarterly reports. He gave a brief over view of the recent inspections, policy and program reviews and financials.

Airport Board president Troy Fruit stepped into the meeting to discus the L3 Harris airport tower lease agreement/ contract. The commission emailed a request to set the contract with a 7-year expiration date with the possibility of renew.

Troy updated the Commission on upcoming projects and events, including FFA weather camera installation and the Bump and Run this week. The fly-in is scheduled for September this year.

The Commission reviewed the Insurance renewal questionnaire.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 12 p.m.
