Girls remain undefeated in conference play

The CCHS Bulldogs lost to the Jordan Mustangs in Jordan on February 2nd, 45-52. The Mustangs led 30-15 at halftime and held off the 'Dogs down the stretch. Porter Kreider and Nolan Kamerman scored 15 points each for Jordan. No stats were reported for the game.

Two nights later in Ekalaka, the 'Dogs fell to the Plevna Cougars by 28 points. CCHS shot 10-17 from the free throw line; Plevna went 19-23. The 'Dogs also lost the turnover battle to the Cougars, 17-11. Cougar Gyme Kelly led all scorers with 36 points; Wyatt Melton had 11 for the 'Dogs.

The JV Bulldogs lost by 20 in Jordan. Blue shot 9 of 13 on free throws while the 'Stangs shot 7 of 15. AJ Murnion was the leading scorer in the contest with 13 points for Jordan. Scoring was pretty even for the 'Dogs as 8 players made their way onto the stat sheet.

The JV 'Dogs picked up a good win in a half game vs. Plevna on Saturday, 25-23. Ethan Mellon and Roger Beach each had 6 points for Ekalaka. Plevna made it interesting late after overcoming a 7-point deficit in the fourth quarter, but the JV 'Dogs held on for the win.

Baker's JV boys defeated Ekalaka's JV boys in a game at CCHS on Monday night. Ekalaka was down by 14 at halftime and went on to lose by 32. The Bulldogs did manage to get to the charity stripe 17 times where they shot an impressive 76 percent; Baker got there 21 times but shot only 48 percent. Nine Spartans scored in the game; six scored for the 'Dogs.

This Friday, the Bulldogs will play at Terry. On Saturday they will wrap up their regular season play when they take on Broadus at home. The District 4C Basketball Tournament will take place in Miles City next week.
