Both the JV and the varsity boys basketball teams defeated the Cardinals of Bison, South Dakota on Tuesday night in Ekalaka.
In a half JV game, CCHS won by 13. Six players scored for CCHS, led by Preston Jensen with 8. The 'Dogs went 2 for 8 on free throws; the Cardinals were 1 for 4. Full stats were not yet available on Tuesday night.

In varsity action, the Bulldogs again rolled to victory, this time by a 39-point margin. Scoring was spread around for CCHS as ten players made their name into the paper, led by Wyatt Melton with 12 points. Brayden Bucholz also finished the game with double-digit points, 10. CCHS had 18 turnovers and shot 50 percent (8-16) on free throws; the Bison shot 21 percent from the stripe. One of the games more exciting moments came when apparent fan favorite Christian "Moose" Ashbrook scored a bucket during the game's final frame.
This weekend CCHS will begin conference play with games at Wibaux on Friday and at home versus Jordan on Saturday.
