Fallon Carter/Extension invites area residents to join the annual Winter Ag Series. This year it will take place on January 17th in Ekalaka and January 18th in Baker.
On the 17th, it will be at Carter County Event Center in Ekalaka from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A meal will be provided, prepared by the Stompin’ Grounds, and sponsored by the Carter County Conservation District.
On the 18th, it will be at the Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall in Baker from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. A meal will be provided, prepared by the Willard Homemakers, and sponsored by the Bank of Baker.
Topics this year include: “Nitrates and Prussic Acid in Forages,” by Amanda Williams; “Shelterbelt Recovery Following Drought and Grasshoppers,” by Dr. Peter Kolb, MSU Extension Forestry Specialist; “Ventenata and Other Invasive Annual Grasses,” by Dr. Jane Mangold, MSU Extension Rangeland Weed Specialist; and “Nutrition for Pregnant Beef Cattle,” by Dr. Sam Wyffels, MSU Extension Beef Cattle Specialist.
