Netters lose weekend contests

On October 6th the CCHS Lady Bulldogs traveled to Wibaux. The JV girls lost their match to the Lady Longhorns in four sets (25-20, 16-25, 13-15, 15-17).

In varsity action, CCHS took the match to five sets before losing the last, 13-15. As a team, the Lady ‘Dogs had 8 aces, an impressive 39 kills, 4 blocks, 34 assists and 21 digs. Codi Melton led the team with 10 kills and 5 digs. Carly Aho had a team high in aces (3) and tied with Heidi LaBree for a team high in assists (17). Kendall Shepherd had 2 of the team’s 4 blocks.

The JV squad was able to steal one set from the Wildcats in Circle on October 7, but fell in four (13-25, 21-25, 16-14, 15-17). In the varsity match CCHS lost three straight sets (16-25, 11-25, 23-25). Melton had 16 of the team’s 26 kills and 9 of 28 digs. Aho had 12 of 22 assists and a pair of aces. Tyra O’Connor had 2 aces and one of the team’s two blocks; her sister Nasya O’Connor had the other.

On Saturday the Lady Bulldogs will play a match versus Terry at home, beginning at 6 p.m. They are scheduled to play in Plevna on Tuesday.
