The Alzada Community Club is busy planning it's next event, the Harvest Jubilee, which will be held at the Alzada Community Hall on Saturday, October 1st.
Beginning at 4 p.m., attendees are invited to enjoy playing cornhole and horseshoes outside the hall, weather permitting. At 6 p.m. there will be a free-will donation potluck. The club will be providing sloppy joes, chips and drinks, but asks that those able bring a side dish or dessert.
Following supper there will be one hour of cowboy music and poetry by this year's featured artists: Brent Voight, Bob Petermann and Jim Hamilton. Voight and Petermann have both played music in the area for quite some time and are skilled, gifted musicians. Jim Hamilton has been writing poetry for over thirty years, mostly about what he knows: ranching in southeast Montana and trying to preserve the cowboy way of life. Area resident Jack Owen graciously arranged the entertainment portion of the event on short notice and organizers look forward to enjoying these talented artists.
After the live-performance session a dance will take place. Alzada dances were once a much sought-after occasion and club members hope to bring that back to the community. The dance will be deejayed by Eric Lovec of Ekalaka.
Updates will be posted on the Harvest Jubilee event page on Facebook. The event will be an enjoyable night with family, friends and neighbors. See you all Saturday, October 1st in Alzada!
