Volleyball team continues busy play

On September 8th in Ekalaka, the Lady Bulldogs lost in three straight sets to Circle, 17-25, 11-25 and 19-25. Brynn Loehding led CCHS in kills (6 of 22) and digs (12 of 30), Tyra O'Connor led in blocks (3 of 6) and Carly Aho led in assists (9 of 18). The Lady Bulldogs did not record an ace throughout the match.

On Saturday, the squad played in a tournament in Scobey. CCHS went 9-7 in total sets at the tournament. They played eight different teams, all in two set matches.

In the first match they defeated Wolf Point twice, 25-17 and 13-12. Tyra O'Connor had 4 kills and the only block for CCHS to lead the way.

In their second match, the Lady Bulldogs lost both sets to MonDak, 22-25 and 5-11. Kendall Kittelmann had a pair of aces. Codi Melton led the team in kills with 2 out of the team total of 7.

CCHS defeated Poplar in two straight sets in their next match, 25-22 and 12-10. Nasya O'Connor had 2 of the Lady Bulldogs' 3 blocks and Heidi LaBree tallied 4 assists in the match.

CCHS then split sets with Richey/Lambert in the next match, losing 18-25 and winning 9-8. Melton had 7 of the team's 14 digs and Aho had 5 of 7 assists in the match.

Next, CCHS lost two sets to Plentywood, 15-25 and 9-10. Loehding had 3 of 10 kills and Melton had 5 of 14 digs.

Lady Blue next defeated Lustre in two straight sets, 25-13 and 15-11. Aho had 7 aces and 5 assists for CCHS.

In the next match against Scobey, CCHS again won two sets; the first 25-12 and the second 25-23. Loehding led CCHS in aces (5 of 9) and digs (7 of 18).

In their final match at Scobey, the girls again played conference rival Jordan. They narrowly lost both sets, 21-25 and 26-28. Kendall Shepherd had 7 of the team's 23 kills; Kittelmann had 7 of 21 digs.
