Montana Shakespeare in the Parks' performance of "Twelfth Night" was attended by nearly sixty members of the community on Tuesday evening at Ekalaka Elementary. The performance was again sponsored by Sagebrush Service Club. The club's contractual agreement with Shakes includes a fee as well as providing meals and lodging for the group while they are in Ekalaka.
The theatre company travels to rural areas around the state putting on performances that have been a cherished community event for fifty years.
"To be celebrating 50 seasons of amazing performances is truly a special accomplishment," said Kevin Asselin, executive artistic director of MSIP. "Our greatest pleasure comes from knowing that audiences can discover the magic of Shakespeare, where universal truths of mankind are united through stories that stretch beyond space and time."
Sagebrush Service Club has been sponsoring the event in Ekalaka since 2015. Prior to that it was sponsored by Artists of the Prairie. The show is made possible each year by the generous support of those in the community and surrounding area.
