Fourteen chapter members and around 40 guests attended the Annual CCHS FFA Banquet on Tuesday in the school's Tuggle Room.
CCHS FCCLA served a meal to attendees. Also assisting in meal preparations were Cam LaBree and Sarina O'Connor, who were thanked during the meeting. Meat for the occasion was donated by OCC Legacy Cuts.
Awards and degrees were given to members and some information about the chapter's busy year was shared, including some of the activities and competitions members took part in throughout the year as well as a review on fruit sales. The chapter will be fulfilling their Adopt-A-Highway commitment later this month.
Advisor Mr. Seth Whitney awarded Travis Schallenberger as the most dedicated member for the current school year. Jaden Pardee will serve as the chapter president next year.
Rebecca Knapp awarded three alumni scholarships at the banquet. Graduating seniors Kenzie Tooke and Darin Schallenberger were each awarded a scholarship, and another went to continuing education student Hannah LaBree, a 2020 CCHS graduate.
Les Kreitel expertly auctioned off nineteen chapter members as well as Mr. Whitney for hired hand services. He also managed to auction off the meal's leftovers to raise additional funds for the chapter. Two Ziploc bags of meat sold as high as $25.
