Election filing closed

The deadline to file for a county office was Monday at 5 p.m.

County positions up for election in 2022 include Carter County Commissioner from District #2 (six-year term), County Attorney (4-year term), County Clerk and Recorder/Public Administrator/Surveyor (4-year term), County Treasurer (4-year term), County Sheriff/Coroner (4-year term) and Justice of the Peace (4-year term).

Incumbent Steve Rosencranz, Republican, and Pamela J. Castleberry, Republican, have filed for commissioner. Incumbent Corbit S. Harrington, Republican, has filed for County Attorney. Republican Judy Wright has filed for County Clerk and Recorder/Public Administrator/Surveyor. Incumbent Jesi Pierson, Republican, has filed for County Treasurer. Nonpartisan candidates for Justice of the Peace who have filed include incumbent Kathleen “Kathy” Rosencranz and Kamely Harkins.

Montana’s primary election will take place on June 7, followed by the general election on November 8.
