Mid-Rivers Communications is proud announce the local recipients of its 2021 Education Technology Grants. Grants are awarded to educational facilities, including private, public, and home schools, and non-profit entities with an educational mission benefiting members and customers in the Mid-Rivers service area. Montana law requires that the cooperative’s Fund for Education be used for educational purposes.
Grants were awarded to 13 applicants totaling $65,500. Grant awards in Eastern Montana include:
• $7,500 to the Bloomfield Elementary School for a Smartboard and STEM education
• $7,500 to the Boys and Girls Club of Richland County dba Boys and Girls Clubs of the MonDak to purchase supplies for STEM projects
• $7,500 to Wibaux Public Schools for STEM learning processes and broadcasting equipment
• $5,000 to the McCone County Library in Circle for books and supplies for STEM education in cooperation with the Circle Schools
• $4,000 to the Savage Public School for drawing tablets and computer equipment to teach design and communication
• $2,500 to Central Elementary in Sidney for headphones and wireless mice for the 4th Grade Class
• $2,500 to the Lambert School District for a new elective class using 3D designing and printing equipment
• $2,500 to the Miles Community College Learning Center for Chromebooks, essential education software and outreach for adult education
Mid-Rivers is pleased to be able to offer these 2021 Educational Technology Grants and impressed by the innovative solutions represented in the 2021 applications. The Education Technology Grant program will be offered every two years depending on funding availability.
