Betty (Kalstrom) Van Ransler Memorial

My name is Linda (Van Ransler) Robustelli. I was born and raised in Ekalaka, graduating from Carter County High School in 1967. I would like to thank Stevenson Funeral Home in Dickinson, N.D., along with Pastor Jim Biswell for helping me arrange a Memorial Service for my mother. Betty (Kalstrom) Van Ransler on August 20, 2021. The flowers were beautiful! It was a very much needed rainy day, which made it difficult for Pastor Jim to conduct a service at the gravesite. He did a very nice, meaningful service.

I would also like to thank Sue Breding at Beaver Lodge Cemetery for her help in being able to bury my mother’s cremains next to my father. I also enjoyed a very nice visit with her. The cemetery is now very big and needs a lot of maintenance. A wonderful job is being done. Thank you to the people who made donations in my mother’s memory for continued upkeep.

Another big thank you to Ekalaka Bible Church for the use of their facility and the Ladies of the Church for preparing a very nice luncheon for us.

Thank you to the Ekalaka Eagle for presenting an attractive layout for her age progression pictures, obituary, and poem that she had written in the early seventies (after leaving Ekalaka) as she was reminiscing.

Thank you to all who came out on that very rainy day to pay tribute and visit. Seeing several friends was so enjoyable for me.

Last, but not least, thank you to all my family members who helped make this happen. It is harder to plan a memorial when you live at a distance. In my case, Oregon.

The accommodations were great at both the Guest House and the Midway Motel. The restaurants served the best food. I am so glad that you now have your new grocery store stocked and open for business. I am so proud to be from a community with such strong grassroots. I believe that Ekalaka is now “known for fame” with it’s wonderful museum, along with many other events.

God Bless

Linda (Van Ransler) Robustelli
