Input needed

Carter County is seeking public input regarding the County Pre-Disaster Mitigation Plan Update. The current plan was developed in 2013 and has expired the usual five-year life span. As part of the plan update, the county re-evaluates the hazards that directly affect Carter County and its residents, and lists corresponding mitigation actions. Hazard mitigation aims to reduce or eliminate the loss of life, injury or property damage, and mitigation actions are the specific projects that help to achieve those goals. A quick, less than seven-minute survey has been created to solicit public input both on identifying the hazards, and mitigation priorities in the county. The survey has also been posted on the Carter County DES Facebook page and is available in hard-copy format at the Carter County DES Office located in the courthouse. Please return filled out surveys to Georgia Bruski, DES Coordinator by October 31, 2021.
