Approximately sixty-five concerned locals attended the Carter County Commissioner's meeting after the commission broke for lunch on Monday in Ekalaka. The individuals had questions for the commission regarding the recent notice of facility lease for the new Carter County Healthcare Facility and turned out in support of Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association. Scheduled on the commission's agenda at 1 p.m. was "RFP and operation of the new hospital facility by Dahl Memorial Healthcare - Jennifer Williams / Members of the public."
Williams, a lawyer in Ekalaka, represented the group on a volunteer basis and had a list of questions for the commissioners that were submitted to her from several of the concerned citizens.
The notice of facility lease that is advertised in the Eagle is also currently being advertised in Bismarck, Rapid City and Billings.
Scheduled on this Thursday's agenda at 1 p.m. is a discussion regarding the RFP with Dahl Memorial Healthcare's Attorney, Stewart Kirkpatrick, and Attorney Dan Simmons, Bond Counsel.
Currently, the RFP states that the deadline for potential lessees to submit proposals is September 3 with selection of a new operator to take place on or about October 12.
