Veteran's Park receives funding boost

The Carter County Community Foundation was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from ONEOK, Inc. for Ekalaka Veteran’s Park, a memorial at Perso Park on the corner of Speelmon Street East and Main Street. Eastern Plains Economic Development Corporation (EPEDC) is providing grant writing services to help find funding for the project.

This new construction will feature a beautiful stone wall with seals from all of the military branches, a masoned patio and benches for rest and reflection. Solar spotlights will be added to light up the seals at night.

ONEOK is a leading midstream service provider and one of the nation’s premier natural gas liquids systems, connecting NGL supply in the Rocky Mountain, Mid-Continent and Permian regions with key market centers and an extensive network of natural gas gathering, processing, storage and transportation assets. ONEOK is a committed and active member in local communities with a dedicated community investments department to foster partnerships.

Carter County Community Foundation, the veteran’s park committee and EPEDC are thankful to ONEOK for the generous contribution to the project.
