School elections take shape

Ballots will be mailed Thursday for school elections throughout Carter County.

On the high school ballot that will be mailed to voters throughout the county is a building reserve fund levy proposition in the amount of $150,000 per year for three years, totaling $450,000.

Most recently, building reserve funds were used to replace the boiler system in the high school. The funds are for the purpose of proper maintenance or repair on the aging building.

Voters in Elementary District #15/High School District #3 will also be voting for two candidates to fill three-year terms on the school board. Four individuals have filed for the two open positions. The candidates are current board member Micheal Ashbrook, current board member Cassidy Jesperson, Lynn Williams, and Tye B. Williams.

Lisa Borchgrevink, recently appointed to the board, is running unopposed to fill one, 1-year term.

Thebea Thomas, High School District #2, who was appointed to the board for one year, will be elected by acclamation to a 2-year term.

Three candidates have filed for one, 3-year term in Elementary District #56, Alzada. The three candidates are Miranda Hendrickson, Lane R. Pilster and Ashlee Thomas.

Election day for all school elections is May 4.
