Individuals are invited to join “MontGuide Mondays,” a virtual discussion group, similar to a book club, during January and February 2021. The sessions’ hosts are Marsha Goetting, MSU Extension family economics specialist, in addition to several other extension agents. Attendees read a MontGuide and take part in a virtual discussion from 10 to 11 a.m. via Webex. Participants can ask Goetting and the co-host county agents questions about the MontGuide or just listen and learn. Registration is required for MontGuide Mondays and can be done at montana.edu/familyeconomics/montguidemondays. For more information, email Goetting at [email protected].
Montana State University Extension is also offering Tuesday Tips, an online seminar series about estate and legacy planning that began on January 5.
The series will run from 10 to 10:45 a.m. each Tuesday in January and February, followed by a 15-minute question and answer session until 11 a.m. MSU Extension educators Marsha Goetting and Emily Standley are hosting this series.
Topics will include what individuals can and cannot do with a will; what to include in a letter of last instruction; how to avoid probate with a transfer-on-death deed; comparing life estates, joint tenancies and trusts as possible estate and legacy planning tools; exploring the benefits of financial and heath care powers of attorney; and how to acquire information about probate and duties of a personal representative.
Registration for the webinars and can be done at https://www.montana.edu/estateplanning/tuesdaytips .
