Drive-thru flu vaccinations available

This year, Dahl Memorial Healthcare Association is hosting drive-thru flu vaccination clinics. To date, four clinics have already taken place. Three more are still available, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Monday, October 12, October 19 and October 26.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the influenza vaccine yearly for everyone six months and older. The vaccine protects those who receive it as well as their loved ones.

The cost for the vaccine is $25 and can be paid by cash or check only. Residents who would like the cost of the vaccine billed to insurance must bring their insurance card and driver license.

The vaccine is also available through the Vaccines for Children Program (a federally funded program providing no-cost vaccines to children who lack health insurance or who otherwise cannot afford the cost of the vaccination).

To avoid a long wait time patients can fill out consent and screening forms ahead of time. The forms can be found on the Dahl Memorial Healthcare Assoc., Inc. Facebook page.

Patients are asked to wear a face mask, dress in clothing that gives easy access to the shoulder and to stay inside their vehicle as the vaccine will be administered through the vehicle's open window/door. Afterwards, patients will be asked to remain parked for fifteen minutes to make sure they feel okay before driving home.

Call Dahl Memorial Clinic at 406-775-8738 for more information.
