The Carter County Senior Center will open its doors to the public on October 5th. There will be several measures taken to fulfill the requirements of Phase 2 of Governor Bullock’s reopening plan.
Everyone will have their temperature taken with a contact-less thermometer before being permitted to enter the facility. Patrons will be signed in and asked to use sanitizer. No more than twenty-two individuals will be allowed inside the center at a time. Congregate meals will be set up for no more than 20 individuals at a time. There will be two separate times, scheduled 45 minutes apart, for meals.
When the Senior Center is used for any activity, patrons must write their event on the calendar so that cleaning and sanitizing between events can be scheduled.
Masks are strongly encouraged for activities that can’t ensure social distancing. Masks are required when there are four or more active cases in the county.
In the event two positive cases of COVID-19 are linked to the Senior Center, the doors will be closed while the county reevaluates and congregate meals will again be curbside pickup only.
