Bullock gives Montana counties option for all-mail ballots

Carter County elects to do so

Carter County will conduct the 2020 General Election as an all-mail ballot election following provisions outlined in Montana Governor Steve Bullock’s directive implementing Executive Orders 2-2020 and 3-2020, and Title 13, Chapter 19, MCA.

The General Election will be handled much like this year’s primary election, allowing for ballots to be sent to all active Carter County voters. A written plan to conduct the November 3, 2020 General Election by mail will be completed and submitted to the Secretary of State’s Office for approval.

A statement released by Carter County Election Administrator Pamela J. Castleberry says “As the election Administrator for the County of Carter, I, Pamela J. Castleberry, have determined that in the view of the COVID-19 a mail ballot election is the most safe, economically and administratively feasible way of conducting the November 3, 2020 General Election. The Board of Carter County Commissioners have reviewed the Directive and support the plan to mail ballots for the General Election. Voters are encouraged to contact the office if they have any questions, (406) 775-8749. Updates will be issued weekly to the Ekalaka Eagle.”
