Ready, set, parade: 2020 Days of '85 Pet Parade

The 2020 Carter County Fair Pet Parade is scheduled for 12 noon on Friday, August 7 at the bleacher area of the fairgrounds. Then the fun starts!

Registration is from 11 a.m. until noon with the parade beginning at 12 noon sharp! Sponsors of the annual event are the Carter County Fair Board and Marshall Ranch.

Sponsors invite all participants from 0-80+ years to participate and compete for a few bucks to get contestants through the Days of ‘85 celebration. There is no pre-registration, no entry fee, age limit or species of pet(s) restrictions. Just get yourselves together (you and your pet(s) and parade around in front of a cheering audience in the bleachers.

Categories this year are:

1. Storybook character(s) such as: Bambi, Smoky, etc.

2. Songbook character(s) such as: “How much is that doggy in the window?”

3. “Let the Good Times Roll” (2020 Carter County Fair theme)

First place in each of the three categories will receive $15, second place in each of the two categories will receive $10, third place in each of the two categories will receive $7.50 and the judges favorite overall will receive $25. All entries not placing will receive $5 for participation.

So rope, grab, or nab your pet or pets and begin your creative decorating and win some money as described above.

Three judges, Marge Greibel, Chris Hansen and Dayle Lovec are on deck to do the honors (which could be difficult). Susan Tooke is the creative announcer. Kennedy, Kenzie and Kendra Tooke will be hard working ringmasters who line up pets after promenading. JoAn Marshall will serve as tally master with whomever she tricks into helping her register and tally up results!

See you all there: contestants, pets and audience for a great day!
