Plans for the Days of ‘85 are continuing as the event draws nearer. The annual fair and rodeo is slated for August 6 through August 9 this year.
All events that traditionally happen at Carter County Fairgrounds are still a go, with only a few changes this year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fairgrounds will likely not have a bounce house for children to play in this year. Also of note, a decision on entertainment, typically sponsored by the fair board, has not been made.
The fairgrounds will still be busy with events including the pet parade, stick horse rodeo, livestock sale and all judgings scheduled to take place. The exhibit hall will also be open.
Sheepdog trials are scheduled for Thursday at the Track and Arena, and the rodeo is still on for Saturday and Sunday.
Sand volleyball, sponsored by Dawg House Pub, is scheduled to take place at the town park on Friday. The parade and a car show are scheduled for Sunday in addition to the rodeo.
