Area residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a busy, event-filled weekend in Ekalaka. On Saturday, the Annual Ekalaka Bump-N-Run is taking place at Ekalaka Airport, with races beginning at noon. There will be generous room on the bleachers for spectators to spread out, as well as parking available on a first-come, first-served basis near the track for fans choosing to watch from their vehicles.
A full concession stand will be open and Dawg House Pub will be providing a beer garden. The price for admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Children under five get in free.
On Sunday, the Ernest Tooke Memorial Match Bronc Ride and Futurity is taking place. The futurity will kick off the day’s events, starting at noon. A calcutta will take place at 2 p.m. and riding will follow. Also taking place on Sunday at Ekalaka Track and Arena are bulldogging and ranch bronc riding competitions.
The weekend will conclude with live music and a street dance on Main Street Sunday night, sponsored by Dawg House Pub.
