Join CCM for yoga and stars this Saturday

The first in-person event of Carter County Museum's summer programming series will be a combination of yoga and star party at Lantis Spring Campground on Saturday, June 13. Yoga, led by Melissa Schwede, will begin at 8 p.m. and the star party will follow at 9 p.m. The evening's events will end by 10 p.m.

The yoga portion will be a moon salutation led by Melissa Schwede. Advance registration is required and can be found in the CCM website shop for $8 at: https://cartercountymuseum.org/product-category/yoga/ . Some yoga mats will be provided, but it is recommended to bring one. The campground is large enough for people to socially distance during yoga.

The star party will consist of telescope viewing, night-time activities and an interpretive constellation presentation led by the Carter County Museum's educator, Steve Hobe. This portion of the night will be free to the public. Cleaning wipes and stations will be present and used for all activities.

The roadways into the Custer Gallatin National Forest are mostly gravel and on rough terrain. Be prepared for large changes in elevation and rough roads. Four wheel drive is recommended.

If coming from the North on MT 323, exit East on Speelmon Creek Rd. and at the immediate intersection, head southeast on Kim Curry Road. In roughly four miles, turn left to stay on Speelmon Creek Road. In four miles, you'll arrive at a V junction, take the right (south) road. In another four miles, you will reach a four way intersection, turn left and the exit for the campground will be a half mile north.

If coming from the South on MT 323, exit East on Tie Creek Road. Follow Tie Creek Road for ten miles until you come to a T junction. Turn left (north) on Exie Road and continue for two miles. At the first intersection, stay left. In about two miles there will be another intersection, stay right. In a half mile, you will approach a four way intersection, go straight and the exit for the campground will be a half mile north.
