Be wise and smart

Hello God, it’s me, Mara:

You know, Lord, sometimes while plodding, walking heavily, through a day/time/or a problem, we truly need some wisdom; occasionally we come across some interesting material. A friend shared a special ‘secret’ about the word ASKing which means Asking, Seeking, Knocking. She said that she had found her answer while checking out Proverbs 2 where she read: “If one listens and obeys the Lord’s instructions, the Lord will give wisdom and good sense.” That verse just blessed her and has helped her through many things.

We both agreed that wisdom is an indefinable value that we respect in others, but mercy, Lord, we find it difficult to develop that quality in ourselves. We cannot guide our own steps without Your help, so while we are in the middle of our problems, please grant us wisdom as we trudge along.

We know that You are the gracious giver of all good gifts, Lord, so help us to seek the gift of wisdom above all other possessions that we have, and to value wisdom above everything else. We know that You long to impart this gift to us, and that we only need to ask, and we also know that there is something about spiritual wisdom that demands that we value it before we can receive it.

We pray, Lord, that You will let us reflect Your will and live for Your glory in all of our decisions, this day and every day. Please guide our hearts as we make our choices about anything and everything, and may we have Your spirit lead us in Your ways.

We read in James 1:5: “If any of you lack wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.” Thank You, Lord, for that special gift.

Love, Mara
