Edward "Bub" Stuart

Edward "Bub" Stuart passed away peacefully at Monument Health Hospital in Rapid City, SD on April 30, 2020.

Ed or Bub (as he was sometimes referred to) was born at the home of Susan Kerr in Ekalaka, MT., to Walter and Alta Stuart. He graduated from Carter County High School and joined the Navy. After his time in the service Bub married Virginia Melum on May 23, 1954. To this union five children were born Jim, Rusty, Darla, Mary and Bill. Bub worked various jobs in his lifetime from ranch hand, mechanic, coal pellet maker, tire recapping, and truck driving. He owned and operated Ed's Trailer Repair for many years. Many people would call on him to fix a car, tractor, do some farming, or pull them out of a ditch. He was always willing to help his family, friends, and neighbors.

He is survived by his children, Darla Hamel, Camp Crook, Bill Stuart, Belle Fourche; and Mary (Jason) McKinley, Ft Shaw MT; daughters-in-law, Mickie Stuart, Miles City, MT, and Loretta Groves, Wright, WY; sisters, Elsie Turbiville and Mary June Stuart; a truckload of grandkids and great grandkids; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; sons, Jim and Rusty; granddaughter, Misty; his parents, Walter and Alta; brothers, Harold (Sonny) and Bill; and sister, Regina Bruha.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2020 at Little Missouri Lutheran Church in Capitol, MT with Reverend George McGuire officiating. Burial will take place at Capitol Cemetery immediately following the service. A luncheon will be held at Over the Edge Cafe in Camp Crook following the burial.
