Kenten Allen Peabody, age 50, of Miles City passed away on April 13, 2020 at Advance Care Hospital of Montana in Billings, Montana.
Kenten was born July 14, 1969 to Arthur and Mary (Chamberlain) Peabody at Dahl Memorial Hospital in Ekalaka, Montana. He would be joined by two sisters, Gaylene Michell and Channa Charlene. He attended school in Roundup, Ekalaka and Westby, Montana where he graduated in 1989. He attended college at Dawson Community College in Glendive, Montana and received an associates degree in music and law enforcement. He married Jessica Cartmell on April 14, 2006. In this union a son was born, Garrett Walter, on October 28, 2006.
Kenten held a variety of jobs in his lifetime. He was a roughneck for Cardinal Drilling Company, and a CNA at Sheridan Memorial Nursing Home in Plentywood, MT. After he graduated from Dawson Community College, he went to work as a guard at Dawson County Law Enforcement Center for several years. His final employment was for Pine Hills Youth Correctional Facility in Miles City where he worked until he became disabled after suffering a stroke.
Kenten's passions were spending time with his son Garrett; music, karaoke and watching football, especially the Cowboys! He left behind many records for all to enjoy.
Kenten was preceded in death by his mother, Mary; paternal grandmother Addie Peabody; maternal grandparents, Winfred and Frieda Chamberlain; aunt Arlene Chamberlain; uncle Gary Chamberlain, paternal grandfather Glen Peabody. He is survived by his wife Jessica and son Garrett of Billings, MT; sisters: Gaylene (Raymond) Hurdon and Channa (Marc) Fuhrman of Miles City; his father Arthur and step-mother Sally Peabody of Upton, WY; two step-brothers Clark Coberly and family of Upton, WY and Drew Coberly and family of Round Rock, TX; mother-in-law, Dorinda Henderson; father-in-law, Phil (Deb) Baney; sisters-in-law: Julie (Josh) Schriver, Jenae Andreas and Buffy Olson; "grandma" Joyce Devoy; special aunts: Vicki Chamberlain and Joy Neumann of Miles City, MT; special cousins, Kelly, Holly and Kamden Parsons; many aunts, uncles, niece, nephews, cousins, his special cat Boo Kitty and friends from all over.
A visitation was held on April 21, 2020 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. A private family service was held on April 22, 2020 at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting: http://www.stevensonandsons.com.
