Through generous donations and awards of various grants, Dahl Memorial has been able to secure funding to cover some of the expenses for updated hospital equipment and construction costs for the new healthcare facility being built in Carter County.
ONEOK and the USDA have donated considerable amounts to help update equipment at Dahl Memorial. ONEOK contributed $80,000 to purchase twelve new hospital beds while the USDA gave $65,000 to help fund the upgrade of a new electronic health records system.
Dahl staff have also applied for various grants that will be used to purchase new equipment for the hospital, clinic and emergency room. The hospital has been awarded a Community Development Block Grant of $600,000 for equipment purchases that include a chemical analyzer, nurse call system, thirteen hospital beds, three ER stretchers and various clinic and emergency equipment.
A fifty percent match contribution from the Murdock Charitable Trust for $142,500 was granted to purchase a new digital radiography fixed x-ray machine along with a patient monitoring and telemetry system.
Southeast Electric Cooperative has also awarded $33,000 to Dahl to go towards construction costs related to energy efficient lighting for the new hospital.
With over $700,000 in awarded grants and over $100,000 in donations, Dahl Memorial Healthcare is thankful for the generosity and contributions that have been made. These contributions have helped make the building project more affordable.
A statement from Dahl staff said that the facility will have a positive impact on the members of Carter County and the surrounding communities, and that they are excited for the move.
“As the anticipation and excitement grows, we cannot wait to move into our new home within the next year.”
