Lady Dogs wrap up regular season play

On Valentine's Day 2020, the CCHS Lady Bulldogs improved their record to 11-6 on the season with a win over the Terry Terriers. The game seemed a fitting home finale for a senior class that has seen a great deal of success during their time at CCHS. The Dogs were up 37-6 at halftime and went on to win 63-8. They totaled 21 rebounds, 16 assists and 18 steals. Blue finished the game with only 8 turnovers; Terry had 30. The Dogs went 21-35 on two-pointers and made 5 of 15 threes. Heather LaBree led the way on offense with 14 points. Eight Dogs scored in the contest. She also led the team in rebounds with 7.

All nine JV players in uniform scored against Custer/Hysham the following night as the JV Dogs handed the Rebels a 24 point loss. Blue was up 14-2 after the first quarter and never looked back. Heidi LaBree led CCHS in scoring with 7 points, all of which came in the first quarter. Hannah Porter of the Rebels had a game-high 8 points. CCHS had 17 turnovers; Custer/Hysham had 37.

The Lady Bulldogs Varsity squad had an impressive performance last Saturday night as well, leading in every major statistical category, and on the scoreboard, as they won 80-37. Blue shot 9-13 (69 percent ) on free throws, 22-47 (47 percent) on two-pointers and 9-21 (43 percent) from deep. They out-rebounded the Rebels 35 to 19 and had 8 fewer turnovers. Twelve of their rebounds came on the offensive end. Heidi LaBree led in scoring with 15 points as 4 Bulldogs finished the game in double figures. Kenzie Tooke had 9 rebounds, 4 of which were offensive.

This week the Lady Bulldogs start postseason play at the District 4C Tournament at Custer County District High School in Miles City. Their first game is Thursday at 2:30 p.m. against Broadus.
